Two Septembers ago, I found myself at the Washington State Fair (the Puyallup Fair, for those who know it best!) capturing a styled elopement. Little did I know that C and B were there as well - and just a few months later, I’d be shooting their engagement session at Pike Place Market and then their wedding in 2019! It’s wild how connections work…
After they saw me at the fair, C emailed me as soon as they got home. It turns out they had already been following me on Instagram, and seeing me at the fair only solidified their decision to reach out. We booked that night, and I couldn’t wait to plan their engagement photos!
B’s family has deep roots in Seattle, and both he and C love spending time there, so Pike Place Market was the perfect backdrop for their engagement session. If it feels like there are more photos from this session than usual, it’s because we truly explored the city! We wandered all over - from the iconic "gum wall" to Pike Brewing Company, Waterfront Park, the Seattle Great Wheel, and The Fisherman’s Restaurant & Bar. We were even there during the days when the Viaduct was still standing, empty of all traffic due to its closure.
One of my favorite moments of the day happened when we passed a man asking for money. B, without hesitation, reached out to give him some and was immediately asked for a hug. B embraced him with the biggest, warmest hug, and it was such a beautiful, unexpected moment. I'll never forget this moment!
Such a lovely afternoon with these two, and if you think they’re sweet and stunning here, just wait until you see their wedding photos…
