Molly and Michael’s wedding at Fox Hollow Farm in the Issaquah foothills was the perfect mix of elegance, joy, and heartfelt moments. Every detail of their day was thoughtfully designed to create meaningful memories with one another and their guests, while personal touches throughout the historic estate reflected their love and their story.
The day began offsite with hair and makeup before transitioning to the venue, where the estate has separate areas within for getting ready. Molly was surrounded by her mother and sisters, sharing champagne toasts and finishing touches, while Michael spent the morning laughing and getting ready with his groomsmen.
As the anticipation grew, the two had their much-awaited first look. Walking out from the manor, Molly looked gorgeous in her floral brocade "Marquesa" gown by designer Mori Lee from The Wedding Belle and her chic, stylish bob. Michael, in an all black suit with white bow tie from The Tuxedo Club in Seattle, waited patiently as Molly's family looked on from the porch doors. Happiness and smiles radiated from both of them and they shared a kiss! Next, they exchanged private vows - an emotional moment that had everyone, myself included, tearing up.
Fox Hollow’s grounds gave us the perfect light and shadows for portraits of our couple. After some photos outside, we wandered the manor’s upstairs rooms which offered yet another stunning backdrop with soft light streaming through the windows. When the wedding party arrived, we captured their joyful reactions to Molly and Michael making their entrance down the grand staircase. Memorable moments followed - Molly and her bridesmaids in bright magenta, Michael and his groomsmen looking dapper in all black, family photos in front of the manor and hugs and kisses for Molly from their adorable ring bearers - her nephews.
The ceremony took place under a transparent marquee tent that allowed the spring ambiance to shine through. Tulips - Molly’s favorite flower - adorned the entire space. Instead of a traditional arbor, Taylor Patton of Honey’s Horticulture created a breathtaking floral floor installation of tulips, irises, white hydrangeas, and lilies of the valley, with more pink, white and peach blooms hanging delicately from the aisle chairs. Molly carried a classic bouquet of tulips as well, tying the floral vision together.
Every detail of the day was intentional. On the guest book and card table, portraits of loved ones on their own wedding days were displayed - a nod to family legacy. Keepsake details included a beautifully embroidered handkerchief, tulip-embellished trinket boxes for the wedding rings, playful “fortune teller” folded name and place cards, and monogrammed matchstick favors for guests. Meghan Wimer of Wimer Studios designed the bespoke signage and stationery suite, perfectly reflecting Molly’s love of tulips and tying together the spring garden theme. And of course, there were tulips everywhere! The palette of magenta, green, white, and peach gave the celebration a fresh spring garden feel, perfectly complementing the love and joy that filled the day.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour featuring beer, wine, and signature drinks - Transfusions and Old Fashioneds - alongside delicious passed appetizers by Herban Feast. Molly and Michael were able to spend time mingling with their guests, savoring the moments without feeling rushed. As the evening moved into dinner, heartfelt toasts were shared by members of the wedding party, and the couple took a moment to personally thank everyone for being part of their day before cutting in to their cake and kicking off the celebration portion of the night.
The couple shared their first dance to “Yellow” by Coldplay, followed by parent dances that had everyone smiling. Another personal touch came during the reception when we gathered fellow alumni for a WSU photo, celebrating the couple’s shared alma mater. Then it was back to celebrating on their custom wood-and-white checkerboard dance floor, with Bluewave Band keeping the energy high and everyone on their feet - or in the air, as you'll see below!
From the quiet intimacy of their first look and emotional private vows to the thoughtful details woven throughout the day - the tulips, keepsakes, and heartfelt toasts - it was clear how much love and care they poured into Molly + Michael's celebration. Their spring garden wedding was a true reflection of who they are as a couple: joyful, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the people they love. Thank you, Molly and Michael, for letting me capture these memories you’ll treasure for years to come.
