As pizza holds a special place in my heart, I’ll begin with the perfect end to this day: deep dish at Puget Sound Pizza in Tacoma. Let me just say, it was some of the finest pizza I’ve ever tasted—truly unforgettable. (If you haven't been, treat yourself. It's worth it.)
Now, let's rewind to the start. S, K, and I made the trip up to Mount Rainier on a lovely March day. We spent the drive in great conversation, stopped for a necessary indulgence at Scaleburger, and by the time we reached the park, we were ready for photo-adventures! However, we quickly learned that the sunshine was a bit deceiving. It was a crisp 17 degrees, with a strong wind and I’m not exaggerating when I say we braved the cold to capture these images! While every chilly second was absolutely worth it, we were all grateful for the warmth of the car between locations to thaw out our fingers and toes.
We had planned to catch the sunset when we got down out of the state park, but it came so quickly due to the surrounding mountains. We adjusted our plans and pulled over to take advantage of the riverbed for some stunning blue hour shots, and then moved on to the lake for a few serene silhouettes. The colors during that time were simply magical - rich and just a touch moody. If I could send heart-eyes through this post, I would.
I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to document such a memorable day for S and K, and I’m beyond excited to share these images with you.
